Europe’s hottest new “in” destination with incredible beaches, islands & cheap prices! We stay in the amazing city of waterfront city of Split and its old town built inside a 1700 year old place of Roman emperor, Diocletian (and has been the set for Game of Thrones)! For those looking for an active weekend you'll have the chance to cruise the Dalmatian coast & islands, go whitewater rafting, rent a car, and even beach front bars and clubs all to keep you having fun in the Croatian sun! 

Itinerary

Thursday - Day 1 Arrival on your own, room check-in available from 3pm (you will be sent exact instructions on how to arrive). Activities start from Friday morning.

*Transportation Package - Depart Florence/Rome via luxury coach for overnight ride to Split, Croatia.  Stops for dinner/bathroom along the way..  Friday morning arrival to Split with a little time to drop bags (check in to rooms available from 3pm) get some food and freshen up before walking tour starts.

Day 2 Morning walking tour of historic Split. This city walk of Split’s old town will include sights such as Diocletian’s Palace, the palace cellar, fish market, several Game of Thrones filming locations, etc. . And for those that just want to enjoy Split on their own, it’s an ideal city to wander and explore, enjoy the many cafes on the beautiful Croatian boardwalk (the Riva), go to the popular Croatian market in the center of Split, and spend the afternoon on lively Bacvice Beach (less than 10 minutes walking from the old town). Late afternoon (approx. 4pm) you'll embark on your included boat cruise along the scenic coastline of Split & the Majan Peninsula.  Cruise lasts approx. 1 hour and includes a drink (beer, local wine, softdrink or coffee/tea).

At night there will be a pub crawl or a dinner offered at a traditional Croatian restaurant located just off the pedestrian promenade featuring local specialties of appetizers, main courses plus water, beer & wine! At night (and after dinner) you can head out for the beachfront nightlife at the bars/clubs lining the water of Bacvice Beach!  

*During the day you'll have the chance to go white water rafting or zip lining (both activities can be pre-booked).

**Cruise included only for "meet us there" packages (not for packages with transportation from Florence or Rome).

Day 3 Morning departure to the Krka national park famous for its breathtaking pools and waterfalls.  You'll have several hours to explore, hike and swim before we head to a traditional winery to sample several great Dalmatian wines.  Late afternoon arrival back to Split  (approx. 6pm) and free night. Please note - due to regulations of the park, the Krka entrance ticket must be paid in cash and individually by each visitor (have Croatia Kuna cash and cost is 160 Kn for Adults & 70 Kn for Students June-September; Ticket is 85 Kn for Adults & 40 Kn for Students April, May & October).

Boat Cruise (for those who booked Transportation Package from Florence/Rome) - This is an optional activity and it includes stops at "The Blue Lagoon", the island of Brac and later to the island of Solta or Trogir. A fish, meat or vegetarian lunch and wine (during the meal) is included. There will be time for swimming and the trip is a full day activity. For those that want to be independent of the group there are optional day trips to islands like Hvar or Korcula, take a bus to the southern coastal city of Dubrovnik or the lakes district of Plitvice (all of these you can do on your own). Another option for the day from Split can be to rent a scooter or car and cruise around the coastline along the waters of the Adriatic Sea. Free night in Split.

Day 4 Free day and departure on your own (if you have a later departure you can leave your bags with reception at the hostel). 

***Transportation Package from Florence/Rome - Krka national park - Early morning check out and approx. 7:30am departure to the famous national park of Krka which is known for its amazing waterfalls where it’s possible to swim. We’ll have several hours to enjoy the park for swimming or hiking and our bus will depart back to Italy for a very late arrival Sunday night.   Transportation Package bookings do not have the Krka trip or wine tasting included on Saturday, as the stop at Krka (w/o wine tasting) will be on Sunday with the bus on the way back to Florence/Rome.

***Trip Style - This is an independent trip ideal for groups of friends, family, couples, or even for an independent-minded solo traveler. It is designed as a travel & destination package, not solely as a "group trip". You will be on group tours/activities with other travelers and in a room with other travelers if you book the "shared dorm hostel" package (if you book the "private" room package then you of course will be in your own private room). You will however, have independent time between the guided group tours/activities to explore on your own and do as you please, and will receive a detailed info packet by email with numerous recommendations for additional group activities or tours (beyond what is included), sights/museums and food/drink/nightlife info, etc. It's a great balance between guided & included tours/activities and free time so that you have plenty of time on your own to do what you want.
