Discover Poland’s most beautiful and historic destination, the royal city of Krakow on this 5 day/4 night trip to experience this incredible destination.

Krakow is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Europe with one of the largest squares on the continent as its centerpiece, the beautiful Jewish quarter with its dark 20th century history, the 1000 year old Wawel Castle, and the cobblestone streets of the massive medieval old town are a few of the highlights. This trip gives you the opportunity to experience one of the most charmingand unique "off the beaten path" destination in Europe, and one of the cheapest too!

Itinerary

NOTE - This trip is inclusive as far as what is listed on the day to day including all transportation from the start to end of tour (Gdansk-Warsaw-Krakow) and all listed tours, guides, any museum entrances and any included & listed meals.  You are only responsible for your own personal expenses and any add on nights before or after the trip (in Gdansk or Krakow).

Day 1 - Saturday, May 11th

Arrival to Krakow and check in to hotel. Welcome dinner featuring traditional Polish cuisine.  Free evening following included dinner (optional stroll through Krakow’s old town and stop for traditional cherry liquor or vodka for those that want to join).

*Krakow airport is 20 min by train to the center and costs approx. €4.  An Uber or Bolt (taxi services) to the city center hotel takes approx. 25 min. Price approx. €20.

Day 2 - Sunday, May 12th

Breakfast provided, followed by a walking tour of Krakow’s historic center including the Rynek Glowny main square market, St. Mary’s basilica & the story of the famous trumpeters who watch over the city, Jagiellonian University (where the astronomer Nicolaus Copernicus and the late Pope John Paul II used to study), and ending at the Poland’s most sacred spot, the Wawel Castle where all royalty are buried. After a break for lunch you’ll meet the guide again for a tour of Krakow’s  Jewish Quarter, known as Kazimierz.  On this portion of the tour you’ll visit the Jewish Ghetto and where Steven Spielberg’s iconic film, Schindler’s List was filmed, you’ll see Poland’s oldest Synagogue, the Jewish Cemetery, the Holocaust Memorial and more.  Free evening in Krakow

Day 3 - Monday, May 13th

Breakfast provided.  Morning departure by bus to the former concentration camps of Auschwitz & Birkenau and comprehensive guided tour (including viewing of film at Auschwitz). Following this tour and visit, we'll then head to the Wieliczka Salt Mines to head more than 1000ft underground   to see the history of these mines and their "white gold" (tour duration approx. 10 hours covering both Auschwitz & Salt Mine). Early evening return to Krakow and free evening.

Day 4 - Tuesday, May 14th

Free day & evening with nothing planned so you can enjoy the final day in Krakow (and Poland).
Optional activities in Krakow: Wawel Royal Castle tour; Oscar Schindler's Factory Tour, Day tour of Zakopane & Tatra Mountains, etc.

Day 5 - Wednesday, May 15th

Check out and say "do widzenia" (goodbye) to Poland!

Getting to Krakow:
- Fly directly to Krakow Balice international airport (John Paul II airport) which is just 20 minutes away from city center (regular, cheap train service from outside the arrivals area and goes direct to main train station in Krakow city center). Price is approx. €4
