**For the opening weekend of Oktoberfest (Sept. 19-22), it officially opens on Saturday so on Friday we will have the beer walking tour offered, Friday night at a famous beerhall, and then we will go to the tents from the morning on Saturday to be there for the tapping of the kegs and opening of the Oktoberfest!

Friday - Day 2 8:00am walk over to Oktoberfest grounds to get in line for the opening of Friday’s festivities (for those that want to join).  Tents start serving at 10am.  Free day to enjoy the Oktoberfest and Munich and check in between 3pm-7pm (EA guides will be in reception to check you in between 3pm-7pm).   If you do not come between these times then you are on your own to check in with reception (make sure to say you are with the Euroadventures group and give them your name).

Saturday - Day 3 Breakfast provided. Depart from hostel at 9am for optional beer walking tour following breakfast at hostel. We are offering the famous beer walking tour.  Cost of the beer walking tour is 20 Euro and this includes 2-Liters (4 Pints) of beer and lasts approx. 1 hr. and 30 min to 2 hours.  You will pre-pay on the bus Thursday evening.

*20 Euro to be paid to guides before (if you are fly-in and thus arriving to Munich on your own please confirm with us in an email)

It’s a perfect way to spend your morning to mid-day and then after you’ve gotten a lot of beer and history, you can continue onto a beer hall, see museums in Munich, go shopping, or head back to the Oktoberfest!

Sunday - Day 4 Breakfast provided.  Check out 11am and leave your bags in the luggage room, and free day in Munichl.  EA guides will be at reception from 9am-11am to check you out (turn in your keys).  3pm departure time from Munich to Florence & Rome, 1-2pm departure time from Munich to Prague.

Extra Activities

- Beer walking tour. There’s not a better way to see the city & sights, get some great information and entertainment as well as drink some fine German beer while admiring beautiful Munich! The guides are informative, really funny and energetic and there will be KEGS OF BEER with us!  There will be stops for drinking games and other fun activities involving beer (after all it is the capital of beer, Munich).  The cost for this nearly 2 hour tour is only 25 Euro for our own private group!  Keep in mind too that it works out to be about 2 Liters per person (over half a gallon) and they cost 11 Euro for one at Oktoberfest, so in addition to getting your monies worth in beer you also get a super fun and informative tour around Munich’s historic center. Price - €25

- Bike Tour - cover the amazing sights of Munich on a comfy California Cruiser style bike. The city is flat with nice wide bike paths so the ride (approx. 3.5 hours, including beer garden stop) couldn't be easier or more comfortable! Tour covers the major landmarks within the old town, including riding along the Isar River, seeing the famous river surfers, the English Garden and stopping at the Chinese beer garden (the 2nd largest beer garden in Munich!) with time for some beer & food. Price - €20

- Dachau Concentration Camp. Sunday morning there is an optional excursion to the Dachau concentration camp.  It takes 25-30 minutes to get there.  Museum entrance is free.

- Neuschwanstein Castle - an optional trip to the famous inspiration for the Disneyland Castle, Kind Ludwig’s Neuschwanstein Castle nestled in the gorgeous Bavarian Alps! Price - 20 Euro

How To Reach Destination

- Munich Airport (Flughafen Munchen) - located 17.7 miles northeast of Munich. It takes 40 minutes to get to Munich city center and costs up to 12 Euro (cheaper tickets are available if traveling in group).
- Memmingen Airport - located about 68 miles from Munich center. It's popular with low-cost airlines. It takes 1 hour 25 minutes to get to Munich city center and costs 15 Euro by bus.
