The gem of central Europe, Slovenia has a slice of mountainous Switzerland, charming Bavaria, and gothic, enchanting (and super cheap) Prague all wrapped into one. Slovenia is one of Europe's best kept secrets.
With its island church, mountainous surroundings and 1000 year-old castle perched on the edge of a cliff, Lake Bled offers one of Europe's most dramatic and fairy-tale like settings.
We will be staying at a 3 star hotel on the shores of marvelous Lake Bled. The hotel has in-house spa facilities with massages & other assorted treatments at a fraction of the cost of western Europe.
From world-class skiing in nearby Kranjska Gora (only 25 Euro for a day pass) to adventure activities in the nearby Triglav national park, Slovenia has it all for the outdoor enthusiast and at half the price of other western European adventure sports destinations.
An ideal day-trip is to explore Slovenia's capital city of Ljubljana with it's charming cafe culture, baroque architecture and cheap shopping.
Explore the fascinating, 2 million year-old caves of nearby-Postojna
Lake Bled offers very cheap eating and drinking, with lively bars as well as a casino.
All Fall Semester trips are Thursday-Sunday (3 days/3 nights) and will depart from Florence at approx. 7pm on Friday evening with arrival to Lake Bled at approx. 1am Thursday night. Departure from Lake Bled will be Sunday afternoon at approx. 4:30pm and we will arrive back into Florence at approx. midnight.
All Fall Semester trips from Rome will depart at 5:30pm (sharp) on Thursday afternoon with the same itinerary above listed for Florence. Departure from Lake Bled on Sunday will be at approx. 4:30pm and we will arrive back into Rome on Sunday evening at approx. 2:30am.
