Munich, the beautiful and vibrant capital of Bavaria, and more importantly, the beer drinking capital of the world.
Highlights include the completely restored Old Town with world famous Glockenspiel clock, The Residenz, Nyphenburg Palace and the English Gardens.
Visit and reflect at the somber concentration camp of Dachau.
Take in a stein with the rowdy and raucous crowd at the world-famous Hofbrauhaus.
Another great day for beer lovers is a trip to the hillside monastery of Andechs. The monks here brew a very strong beer in a picturesque natural setting outside the hustle and bustle of the city.
Travel to the Neuschwanstein Castle, the real-life inspiration for the Disney Castle.
Tour the home of the 1972 Olympics or the BMW factory and museum.
Munich is a world-class city for museum lovers. It has one of the greatest science and technology museums in the world, The Deutsches Museum. And for art-lovers the multiple Pinkothek museums of art boast world-class collections.
In Munich we will be staying at an upscale hostel in the heart of the city (like Wombat's, Jaeger's, etc...) only minutes from all the sights, shopping and nightlife and conveniently located near the train station for the Starbucks & 24-hour Buger King. All rooms will be with your friends and all have private facilities.
The trips during the world famous Oktoberfest are not to be missed! There are fourteen beer tents (some holding up to 10,000 thousand beer drinkers) and a carnival like setting with rides, food, live music and beer beer beer! It's the world's largest party for good reason! During this trip we offer the full weekend package w/accommodations (on a limited basis) at several hostels in central Munich and as well just a transportation only option (you find your own accommodations). This trip is an overnight bus ride (we depart Rome at 7pm & Florence at 9pm) and we will arrive into Munich at approx. 6am Friday morning.
All non-Oktoberfest Fall Semester trips will depart from Florence at approx. 7-7:30pm and arrive into Munich at approx. 3am. We will have 3 days to enjoy this amazing city. Departure from Munich will be at approx. 3pm on Sunday to return to Florence by midnight on Sunday.
All non-Oktoberfest Fall Semester trips from Rome will depart at approx. 5:00pm on Thursday evening with arrival to our hotel in Munich at approx. 3am. We will have 3 days and nights to enjoy Munich. Departure from Munich will be at approx. 3pm on Sunday to return to Rome at approx. 2:30am on Sunday.
