Munich, the beautiful and vibrant capital of Bavaria, and more importantly, the beer drinking capital of the world.

Highlights include the completely restored Old Town with world famous Glockenspiel clock, The Residenz, Nyphenburg Palace and the English Gardens.

Visit and reflect at the somber concentration camp of Dachau.

Take in a stein with the rowdy and raucous crowd at the world-famous Hofbrauhaus.

Another great day for beer lovers is a trip to the hillside monastery of Andechs. The monks here brew a very strong beer in a picturesque natural setting outside the hustle and bustle of the city.

Travel to the Neuschwanstein Castle, the real-life inspiration for the Disney Castle.

Tour the home of the 1972 Olympics or the BMW factory and museum.

Munich is a world-class city for museum lovers. It has one of the greatest science and technology museums in the world, The Deutsches Museum. And for art-lovers the multiple Pinkothek museums of art boast world-class collections.

The trip on Feb. 19th-22nd will take place during the Mad Munich Sunday of the traditional Fasching Mardi Gras Carnival with parades and bands throughout the center.

The weekend trips in April will take place during the Fruhlingfest, or spring BEERFEST, which takes place on the same grounds as the famous Oktoberfest. It's a smaller less touristed version of the Oktoberfest but arguably just as fun with one to two large beer tents holding several thousand rowdy beer drinkers, liter steins of Munich's finest beer and live music all day and night! It's not to be missed!

In Munich we will be staying at an upscale hostel in the heart of the city (like Wombat's, Jaeger's, etc...) only minutes from all the sights, shopping and nightlife and conveniently located near the train station for the Starbucks & 24-hour Buger King. All rooms will be with your friends and all have private facilities.

All Spring Semester trips will depart from Florence at approx. 7pm and arrive into Munich at approx. 3am. We will have 3 days to enjoy this amazing city. Departure from Munich will be at approx. 3pm on Sunday to return to Florence by midnight on Sunday.
